Veredas Vecinos translates to "neighboring villages." This lot is a regional blend from farms located near Inzá in the Cauca Department of Colombia. The surrounding hills are high. Most of the farms sit between 1500-2000 meters above sea level. This altitude combined with the good harvest and processing techniques of the family farms makes for an exceptional cup of Colombian.
The main coffee variety in the lot is Caturra with smaller amounts of Typica and Variedad Colombia that have all been wet processed. This coffee is part of our importer's Farm Gate direct trade buying program.
Veredas Vecinos has a wonderfully sweet dry fragrance like brown sugar, warm blueberry muffins and other good breakfast things. Subtle dried fruit highlights are well-balanced by chocolatey undertones in this medium bodied coffee. This is a solid all-purpose coffee that'll please espresso and Mr. Coffee drinkers alike.
