Origin

Finca San Diego Buena Vista (SDBV) is located in the Acatenango growing region of Guatemala. It's only recently that the area has been recognized for producing some of the most beautiful coffees in the country. Farmers and collectors used to sell their crops through nearby Antigua for the name recognition. But the increased interest in specialty coffee and traceability has put Acatenango at the top of the list for buyers seeking a first rate Guatemalan.

This lot of Bourbon variety has been wet processed at Finca SDBV's squeaky clean mill. It's also part of our importer's Farm Gate program. Therefore, it's all good.

Notes

San Diego Buena Vista makes for a delicious, well-balanced cup and works well as a single-origin espresso. We try to highlight the structured sweetness in this one by roasting it a shade darker. As a brewed cup, you'll find plenty of chocolate and nut flavors to enjoy. Some fruity, raisin-like highlights come across as the cup cools, but the lasting impression is one of milk chocolate covered almonds. A properly pulled espresso will bring out some shiny citrus elements, too. Real nice.
